BIOGRAPHY
Billy Arthur was born in St. Thomas, Ontario. It was his Grade 1 and 3 teacher, Mrs Barb Buckles at Locke's PS that he credits with "lighting the spark that set ablaze his passion for the Entertainment Industry. " This quote was featured in an article in the St Thomas Times Journal from 2001, celebrating his acceptance as an Apprentice at the Shaw Festival, after completing his BA, majoring in theatre at Brock University.
After his time at Shaw, Billy ventured into the Big City of Toronto, auditioning for various commercials, theatre productions and films. He toured Southern Ontario performing with Little Red Theatre, acted in various films with director Jason Lupish, as well as David Wilde's "Seventeen People from Toronto" and even played a small role in a Jackie Chan film.
Life brought him to the Niagara region, where Billy Arthur performed in many stage productions with various Theatre Companies, including his many performances as Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show. This whirlwind of theatre credits won him his Equity status.
Once a Union actor, Billy chose to co-open his own Theatre company, which eventually led to his Artistic Associate position with neXt Company Theatre. This gave him the opportunity to raise money for charities while producing shows, like The Rocky Horror Show in Niagara region.
In 2012, after another successful run of The Rocky Horror Show and leaving neXt Company Theatre, Billy moved back to Toronto, where he currently resides, to actively pursue his own career in the Entertainment Industry.
Since his big move, Billy has worked on many projects, including a Kelsey's commercial and performance as Paul in Stephen Sondheim's Company with Marion Abbott's CMT, Clopin in Wavestage's Hunchback of Notre Dame.
